Celebrating Women in Construction

Here at Workforce Under Construction, we are always proud to promote the many contributions made by women to the construction industry and are excited to join the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and the entire industry to celebrate Women in Construction Week May 1-7.

While we never miss an opportunity to highlight the fantastic career opportunities in the construction industry, many still believe that construction is a place where women cannot grow and succeed.

The goal of Women in Construction Week is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry, raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the industry and shine a light on the growing role of women in construction.

One Alabama-based construction firm is setting a high bar in their commitment to celebrating women in the industry.  Founded in 1946, Robins & Morton is a privately held construction and engineering company that consistently ranks among the 100 largest U.S. builders in Engineering News-Record and one of the best companies to work for in America.  In celebration of Women in Construction Week, Robins & Morton is recognizing women whose contributions and commitment positively affect their company.

Representing careers that range from field operations to IT, engineering and project management, Robins & Morton has created a special page to tell the individual stories of these industry-leading women.  Take a moment to read and share these stories and help grow the role of women in construction.
